Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said, “I am thrilled to see this beautiful park open to the public today, offering residents and visitors yet another wonderful vantage point to enjoy the spectacular beauty of Dutchess County in its fall splendor. Thank you to all involved with the Silo Ridge project for your commitment to preserving this land.”
The Artisan’s Park Overlook on Route 44, is a public access park with a sweeping vista overlooking the Harlem Valley. Much like the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, it will be open dawn to dusk and weather permitting, and it will be maintained in perpetuity by Silo Ridge.
“On a glorious day with a glorious view from Artisan’s Park, the Town of Amenia, which is defined by the views from DeLaVergne Hill, celebrates the opening of this park,” said Amenia Town Supervisor Victoria Perotti. “The Silo Ridge Project is a wonderful economic boom to the local economy and will be for many years to come.”
“A handshake still means something, Stoneleaf Partners and Discovery Land Company have stayed true to their word and built a gem for the entire Hudson Valley to enjoy,” said Dutchess County Sheriff Butch Anderson.
The overlook is part of the $500 million Silo Ridge Field Club development in Amenia, NY; that is a joint project of the Discovery Land Company and Stoneleaf Partners. Silo Ridge includes 245 residential units and an 18-hole golf course across 670 acres – 80% of which will be preserved as open space in perpetuity and is anticipated to generate over $63 million in new local revenue over the next ten years.
